Tips on Packing Luggage

Let’s be truthful, we hate packing and most of us are dismal at packing. We find ourselves shoving unnecessary items into a silly bag which we carry around with us for the whole trip. The following tips will help you select the right bag, what it should contain and what should be left at home.

Make your case one in a million, stickers, ribbons or a multi coloured strap can make your luggage stand out so your not having to check the luggage tag of every black case that comes around the carousels. With the stand out bright colours the baggage handler might be drawn to your case, so yours might be the first out.

Your hand luggage should be well prepared incase your main case is lost, for starters leave anything you couldn’t bear to lose at home. Pack some light clothing at the bottom of your hand luggage and always keep your travel details with you never put them in your main luggage!

Packing for the journey home should not be rushed, this should be treated as if you was packing for the journey there. Thousands of items are left behind in hotel rooms year after year, I should know. Check the cupboards, floors (under your bed) and drawers in your room.

Steaming places may become chilly at night, especially at higher altitudes. Forget the massive winter coat though, a couple of jackets or fleeces will keep down the weight and be less awkward to carry around.
